What is included?

The package is called "Crown this year's Christmas party with an overnight stay and breakfast", and it covers three things:

  • Early check-in, so you can relax and change before the party [SJEKK: early check-in time]

  • A short walk to bed after the party, no taxi queue

  • Christmas breakfast the next morning, included in the price

The participating hotels are Bergen Børs Hotel, Skostredet Hotel & Spa, Grand Hotel Terminus, Villa Terminus, Zander K Hotel and Heimen Hotel, all in Bergen city centre. [SJEKK: price per person and how to book the package]

Party and hotel under one roof

The simplest option is a Christmas party in the same building as your room:

  • Zander K Hotel: an urban Christmas buffet at Matbaren with local pinnekjøtt (cured lamb ribs) from Fana and a DJ until midnight. Dates: 14, 21 and 28 November, 11 and 12 December, at 19:00. NOK 995 per person. See the Christmas party at Zander K.

  • Grand Hotel Terminus: a classic Christmas party on Friday 20 November at 19:00, NOK 995 per person, with Amundsen Bar & Bistro in the same hotel for a nightcap.

  • Bergen Børs Hotel: Frescohallen serves a three-course Christmas dinner with pinnekjøtt for NOK 1195, every day from 9 November to 23 December.

  • Skostredet Hotel & Spa: Izakaya Skostredet offers a Japanese Christmas-inspired menu, three courses for NOK 995 or five for NOK 1295.

How a Christmas party night at a hotel works

With a room in the city centre, the party becomes a full experience, not just a dinner:

  1. Afternoon: check in early, drop your bags and take a breather. Some fit in a walk around town or a spa visit.

  2. 19:00: the party starts, a few minutes' walk or a lift ride away.

  3. After dinner: dancing, a drink at the bar or a quiet chat in the lobby.

  4. Next morning: a relaxed Christmas breakfast, with nowhere you need to drive.

Celebrating at Wesselstuen, Engen Steakhouse, Bjerck or Fresquito? All our restaurants are in the city centre, a short walk from the hotels. [SJEKK: whether the hotel package can be combined with parties at restaurants without a hotel in the same building]

For international teams, this is also the easiest way to experience a real Norwegian julebord: the food, the speeches and the late night, with breakfast waiting the next day.

Which hotel suits your party?

  • Skostredet Hotel & Spa: a five-star luxury hotel in Bergen's restaurant district. Add a day at Skostredet Spa before the party.

  • Bergen Børs Hotel: Frescohallen under the same roof, and what we think is the best hotel breakfast in Bergen.

  • Grand Hotel Terminus: the classic choice, near Bergen station.

  • Villa Terminus: a small boutique hotel, sister to Grand Hotel Terminus.

  • Zander K Hotel: modern and urban, right by Bergen station.

  • Heimen Hotel: the cosy, more affordable option.

Bringing the whole company

For company-wide parties, Grand Hotel Terminus and Zander K Hotel host private events for up to 230 people per group, with a traditional hot buffet including pinnekjøtt, pork rib, lutefisk, Christmas sausages, medisterkaker (pork patties) and a dessert table.

Book rooms for the group through our group accommodation inquiry, ideally at the same time as the party. Many companies also put their last gathering of the year on the same day: a strategy meeting or workshop during the day, the party in the evening and breakfast together the next morning. De Bergenske has 30 meeting rooms in central Bergen, so everything can happen within a few blocks. See meetings and conferences.

Frequently asked questions

Is breakfast included with a Christmas party hotel stay?

Yes, when you book a Christmas party with an overnight stay at De Bergenske, Christmas breakfast the next morning is included in the price. The package also includes early check-in, so you can drop your bags and get ready in your room before the party starts. [SJEKK: whether breakfast is the regular hotel breakfast with a Christmas touch, and serving hours]

Which hotel is closest to the Christmas party?

You are closest when the party and the hotel share a building. Matbaren is inside Zander K Hotel, Frescohallen inside Bergen Børs Hotel, Izakaya inside Skostredet Hotel, and Grand Hotel Terminus hosts its own party. The other hotels are also in Bergen city centre, a short walk from most of the restaurants.

Can the whole company stay at the same hotel?

That depends on how many you are and which date you choose. Send a group accommodation inquiry early and we will find rooms for everyone. If the group is too large for one hotel, it can be split across several of our six city centre hotels and still meet at the same party.

When should we book hotel rooms for the Christmas party?

Book the rooms at the same time as the Christmas party. Fridays and Saturdays in November and December are the most popular party nights in Bergen, and city centre hotels are in high demand then. The earlier you book, the more hotels and room types you can choose from.

A Christmas party gets better when you know your bed is only a few steps away. Choose your party, add a room and Christmas breakfast, and enjoy the whole evening and a slow morning after.
